The Challenge

As a world-leading semiconductor assembly and test (OSAT) provider, UTAC is entrusted with the priceless intellectual property of top global technology innovators. A stringent security audit issued a clear mandate: their access control system required a fundamental cryptographic overhaul to eliminate the risk of credential cloning. All user cards had to be powerfully encrypted, with secret keys stored in a hardware-based Secure Access Module (SAM). Simultaneously, as a facility with a high volume of contractors and clients, they needed to streamline their visitor management process to enhance both security and the visitor experience, moving away from inefficient manual systems.

We delivered a holistic, multi-layered solution that addressed both cryptographic security and operational efficiency. To meet the audit mandate, we deployed our SKeyMa® (Secret Key Management) system. We implemented SKeyMa PRIVATE, giving UTAC the crucial ability to generate and manage their own unique, private encryption keys, placing ultimate control over their security infrastructure directly in their hands. At every door, our WebENTRA R385 SE Readers with integrated SAM slots enforced this powerful encryption.

To address the operational challenge, we implemented our GoENTRA Visitor Management System. This automated the entire visitor lifecycle, from registration and tracking to seamless integration with the core access control system. The entire solution, spanning three interconnected plants, is managed by a central, dual-redundant server architecture, ensuring maximum uptime and a single, unified security posture.
