The CAC Network Card Access Controller is a highly intelligent and sophisticated access control system. Powered by a 32-bit CMOS main microprocessor, the CAC simultaneously handles up to 8 card readers/doors and the RS485 network communications to the host computer. Each reader control unit (RCU) provides the interface to a reader and all the input/output required for a complete door access control application. In the standard configuration the CAC houses the PSU/Charger, CPU module and up to 8 RCU in a single enclosure ensuring ease of installation and maintenance. As the RCU is linked to the CPU module via an RS485 interface, it can also be located near to each door for maximum security.
The CAC is designed to handle large capacity and high traffic installation. A basic CAC has a capacity for 5000 (expandable to 40000) cardholders, 3000 event buffers, 64 access schedules, 50 holiday and 255 user access groups.Typical applications of the CAC include door access, car park access, lift access, guard tour and visitor management. The CAC together with the SFP64 can be linked to a central computer with the IBSS2000 software to form a complete integrated building security system solution.
